![]() No snow on the ground, but very cold at night. 20 degree nights, so I had to pack extra shelter gear. That hunting trip really cemented how much I like that gun. I'm not sure how steady I would have been with such a long day and a 22lr over 20ga. Offhand position bracing left hand against a small tree. Couple weeks ago I had been tramping around for the better part of a day (I'm pretty outta shape) and finally at 4pm ish I saw a red squirrel and zapped him from a little over 40 yards out. This gun is really easy on the arms when tramping around the woods. So I decided to go with something that was more accurate and light weight. And I could not find a Savage 24 22lr/20 locally. Honestly, if there was a 22lr/20ga I probably would have purchased that. I stayed away from the savage 24s because I have heard that the Point of Aim for the rifle barrel and the shotgun barrel can be off some. ![]()
